It had taken weeks to coax Alesia into trusting him. By then Tiago liked her—too much for the no-strings fuck he’d sought. It seemed wrong to take her as a substitute for the woman he really wanted.
But he couldn’t keep away. She was unlike any female he knew. She made things grow. She made him laugh. Even the beast calmed in her presence.
Sometimes he believed she was the only thing keeping him sane. He’d cut off his own arm before he hurt her.

Now she touched his arm, her fine dark brows furrowed. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“Nothing?” She tilted her head, her eyes knowing and a little sad.
His chest squeezed. He was afraid that despite his good intentions, he’d hurt her anyway. “I shouldn’t have come. Not today.”
“I hear Queen Cleia’s going to have a baby.”
“Yeah.” His voice was gruff. He cleared his throat. “I mean, yes, she is.”
“Tiago. This is me, Alesia. I know you’re upset.”
He glanced away. “She and Dion are so damn happy. The whole clan is so damn happy. And I—” He grimaced. “I want to rip someone’s head off. Some brother, huh?”
She regarded him steadily.
Foolish woman. She should push him out of the tree and conceal herself so well he’d never find her. Because he was this close to shoving her up against the trunk and sinking himself into her, deep and hard, whether she wanted it or not. Anything to mute the pain, the clawing need to show Cleia and Dion what he could do…if he chose.
When Alesia spoke, her voice had a thread of steel. “You’re a good man, Tiago do Rio.”
That thin line tethering him to good behavior snapped. Alesia might think she knew him, but she didn’t. He’d held back, careful to show her only his best self.
He came onto his knees and leaned into her, allowing his barely leashed lust to seep into his voice. “You think so, querida? Why don’t I show you just how good I am?”
He brought his hand to her nape, curving his fingers around the slim column a bit too firmly. Not enough to bruise—but enough so she’d have to work to escape him. He wanted to frighten her, even as he felt a spike of shame. He shoved it aside, allowing the restless black beast to rise to the surface.
Her big golden-brown eyes grew even larger. A pulse leapt in the delicate skin beneath his fingers.
When he spoke, he let a little of the darkness into his voice. “Talk to me, Lesia.” He stroked his thumb down her throat. “I know you want me. Say yes. I’ll make it so good…”

With every single story in this series it just keeps getting better and better. All the way through this story I went from biting my nails to yelling at the characters not to do what they were thinking. This it was to the author about letting them do that. I was laughing and crying.I just love how all the characters seem to grow with each new story. Everything seems to get better and better. I just can't say enough about this series other than if you don't read it you are truly missing out.

Loved the series and would read them all again! Highly recommend. Only wish this fantasy world was real. Hated to see the end.

Well, here we are with book number three...another awesome read! I really miss the Fada and Fae when I finish Rivard's Fada books...always the sign of a good story and characters. I imagine as I'm reading these stories about the unseen word, all around me, as I go through my life as an unaware human...how I wish I could meet one of these hunky Fada!
Tiago has a bit of the affliction that plagues all men young, dumb, and full of cum. Also, the unswerving belief in their own rightness. But I do appreciate the path to maturity, especially when accompanied by a BRUTAL humbling.
The best yet in the series! Each love story is totally different, this one even more so! With a critical point revealed very early, I wondered what tricks the author had planned to keep it interesting, and I was NOT disappointed. We waited a while for the resolution because there was so much going on with the non romantic plot lines, which ended up being critical to the romantic plot line... A tremendously rich story and a welcome summer read! Can't wait for marjani's story!!
Well, Rivard has written her best installment yet in the Fada Shapeshifter Series. In this exciting (you can interpret that in more than one way) book, Tiago sets out to make up with his alpha, who also happens to be his brother Dion, for things that happen in a previous installment. He is becoming darker in his thinking and habits, but has a great friend who is the alluring dryad, Alesia. Though she may be justifiably timid around him, Alesia starts to have a healing affect on him. She also learns what her life is like in the radius of a brutal (when necessary), yet compassionate and disciplined fada male in his prime. The adventures are interesting and unique, and Rivard takes great care to develop characters who stay true to their natures throughout the story. This series is well worth the time to read, and will have you mulling over the details after you have finished.
I can't wait for book 4!
I am pretty addicted to Rebecca Rivard's Fada Shapeshifter Series - the characters are well rounded, the story lines are compelling, and the world she has created is one in which it's so easy to get lost in. Each of the relationships in these stories is unique - and uber-sexy! Rivard is an adept storyteller, and great at drawing her reader in!
I really enjoyed Tempting the Dryad - the third in this series. It was great to see Tiago's and Alesia's relationship develop, and to revisit the characters from the first two books. And I love how the fada/fae world is expanded in this book to include dryads. Tiago's and Alesia's flaws make them relatable, and the conflicts among the clans are deepened in this book.
I can't wait for the next book!
